Therapy for Relationship Issues in NJ

This isn't couples therapy. It's your work, understanding why you keep ending up in the same place, and finally changing it.

Desert Sand Waves

Therapy for Improving Relationships

The relationship pattern that keeps repeating. The boundary you can't seem to hold. The way you disappear in relationships, or explode in them. The person you become around certain people that you don't recognize and don't like. The loneliness of being surrounded by people but never truly seen.

Relationship pain is some of the most isolating pain there is, because it touches everything. How you see yourself. What you believe you deserve. Whether you trust that love is safe.

This is individual therapy, not couples work. It's your space to understand your patterns, your history, and your needs, without having to manage another person's reaction at the same time.

What We Work On

Relationship therapy looks different for every person. Some clients come in fresh from a divorce or breakup, trying to understand what went wrong. Others have been in the same unhealthy dynamic for years and can't figure out how to leave or change it. Some have never had a relationship that felt truly safe and are starting to wonder why.

We look at attachment, how you learned to connect as a child, and how that shows up in your adult relationships. We use DBT skills to help you set real limits, ask for what you need, and communicate without shutting down or blowing up. And we look honestly at what you want your relationships to actually feel like, and what it would take to build that.

You Don't Have to Be in a Relationship to Do This Work

Some of the most powerful relationship work happens when you're single. Understanding your patterns, healing old wounds, and getting clear on what you need before the next relationship begins, that's where lasting change happens.

I work with adults and am proudly LGBTQIA+ affirming. Sessions are available in person in Montclair, NJ and via telehealth across New Jersey and New York.
