Rethink Your Relationship To Substances
Most people who struggle with alcohol or substances aren't weak. They're not morally failing. They're usually coping with pain, with anxiety, with trauma, with the relentless pressure of a life that feels like too much. The substance became a solution before it became a problem.
Whether you're sober and want to stay that way, sober-curious and asking honest questions, in active use and starting to wonder, or somewhere in the complicated middle, this is a judgment-free space. There is nothing you can say that will shock me, and nothing that will make me think less of you.
As a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) practicing in Montclair, NJ, I bring genuine clinical depth to this work. This isn't a sideline specialty, it's one of the areas I care about most and am most trained to treat.
What Makes This Different
A lot of addiction treatment focuses only on the behavior, the drinking, the using, the stopping. I go deeper than that. We look at what's underneath: what need the substance has been meeting, what pain it's been managing, what it would take to build a life where you don't need it the same way anymore.
This isn't about willpower. It's about understanding. And it's about building real tools, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, healthier ways of coping, that actually work in the moments when the pull is strongest.
You Don't Have to Have Hit Rock Bottom
Some of my clients are in active recovery. Some are questioning their relationship with alcohol for the first time. Some have tried to quit and couldn't. Some are worried about a pattern that's growing. You don't need to have lost everything to deserve help. If it's on your mind, it's worth talking about.
I work with adults only. Sessions are available in person in Montclair, NJ and via telehealth across New Jersey and New York. I am proudly LGBTQIA+ affirming.
