Postpartum & Prenatal Therapy in Montclair, NJ

You love your baby. You're also allowed to be struggling. Both things are true, and you deserve support for both.

Postpartum & Prenatal Support

Nobody tells you how disorienting new parenthood can actually be. The sleep deprivation, the identity shift, the grief for the life you had before, the terror of responsibility, the pressure to feel nothing but grateful, all of it happening at once, in a body that just went through something extraordinary.

Postpartum depression and anxiety are more common than most people know, and they look different than the image most people have. They don't always look like sadness. They can look like rage, numbness, intrusive thoughts, obsessive worry, feeling disconnected from your baby, or just a sense that something is deeply wrong that you can't explain.

If any of that sounds familiar, you are not a bad parent. You are a person who needs support. And getting that support is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your child.

Prenatal Support Too

Pregnancy itself can bring anxiety, identity questions, relationship strain, and complicated feelings that don't fit the narrative of pure joy. If you're pregnant and struggling, with anxiety about birth, about your relationship, about who you're becoming, about a history of trauma, therapy before the baby arrives can make a meaningful difference.

What Sessions Look Like

I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can say the things you can't say anywhere else. The complicated feelings about motherhood. The ambivalence. The fear. The anger. And we build real skills, emotional regulation, self-compassion, communication with your partner, to help you feel more grounded and capable in this new chapter.

This May Be Right for You If:

  • You're experiencing postpartum depression, anxiety, or rage

  • You feel disconnected from your baby or yourself

  • You're pregnant and struggling with anxiety or complicated feelings

  • Your relationship has changed significantly since having a baby

  • You're not sure what's "normal" and what needs attention

  • You just need a space where you can be honest about all of it
